Dear Chamber-Music lovers,

You may be wondering why you haven’t received a brochure from us for our 2020-21 Season. We have put in place a series of fantastic concerts for you – see below – but do now recognise that next season may not be able to go ahead as planned, due to the current pandemic. Your safety and wellbeing and that of our artists and staff at Sage Gateshead are of paramount importance to us.

Most of this summer’s live music events across the UK have already been cancelled, and there are now doubts about events planned for the autumn. In the light of the uncertain future, our 2020-21 brochure will not be printed for now, nor will tickets be available for sale. We are especially distressed that our highest-profile concert for many years (the Takacs Quartet) planned for the Society’s 140th anniversary in November, is now in jeopardy.

The Society’s Board would like to express huge gratitude to the large number of you who have donated the cost of unused tickets in the latter part of the present season. We hope very much to present part, if not all, of next season’s concerts. You can keep updated via this website; this is also the place to look for links to some recorded performances by artists associated with the Society.
